From 聿 to Ü

聿 was born in Taiwan at a strange time. Her grandparents spoke Japanese because of Japan's colonization. Her parents spoke Mandarin because of the Nationalists that took over Taiwan from Japan. When 聿 was 5 years old, the Martial Law Order was lifted, and democracy was given a chance. Although the familiar languages changed a few times, there was one thing that stayed consistent, the love for songs. The songs shared in her family preserved and passed on important history and perspectives regardless of rulers' preferences. Following that passion for songs, Ü came to the US to study, built an international career as Ü, applied for the Einstein green card, and became a US citizen in 2021.
